Boys Junior Varsity Baseball, Boys Varsity Baseball · Clarksville Baseball opens with Varsity win/ JV loss

The Clarksville Baseball Teams opened up their 2021 season with a Varsity/JV doubleheader on Saturday, April 3rd at Wayne Stock Field. The teams took on a very good Northeast Dubois County team. The Varsity team was victorious in the Varsity game by a score of 9-2. The team played well in the first game of the season, with the pitching staff  of Junior Cameron Rayborn, Senior Thayne Woods and Junior Brandon Lilly combining to record 10 strikeouts on the day. Offensively Junior Brandon Lilly led a very balanced attack with four hits on the day. Junior Ashton Lilly collected two hits and scored three runs while Senior Jaren Starks collected two hits as well. Overall it was a very good effort both offensively and on the mound.

In the second game of the day the JV lost a hard fought battle 12-3. There were several good plays made by the Generals against a very good NE Dubois squad. Offensively Sophomore Carter Walls collected two hits on the day. Freshman Luke Cain started on the mound and had a very promising performance, while Sophomore Jalen Reyer also took to the hill and showed promise.
